 Saturday, August 15, 2009 will be the opening of the FREAKY MONSTERS, East meets West Group Show featuring artists Janice Lumm and Helena Garcia. Huge horror fan, Janice Lumm, will be giving B movie classics her own twist. While Helena Garcia will be illustrating traditional Japanese monsters in a candy colored world. Instead of wreaking their normal havok they are just hanging out, taking a stroll or peaking through an egg. Don't miss this fun opening! It will be last event held at the Ft. Lauderdale pinkghost location. All other shows will now be held at the new Hollywood, FL location - 1888 Polk St., Hollywood, FL, 33020.  Bil Betsovic (Betso) is a painter, vandal and toy customizer that hails from Las Vegas, Nevada and has exhibited amongst some of the most respected galleries on the west coast. Currently Betso has a mini toy line in production from BIC Plastics and he enjoys watching bunnies eat kids...ask him about it, it's true. Yosiell Lorenzo (Project Detonate) is a graphic designer, painter and cupcake eater that lives in the chill town of New Haven, Connecticut. PD spends most of his time perfecting his painting techniques and developing new characters that will cause mischief and most likely pick your pocket and steal your valuables. Matthew Ryan Sharp (Itskindadark) is a painter, graphic designer and part time street vandal who claims the semi-clean Chicago outskirts as home. Matthew spends 90% his free time painting on wood and paper and planning out his next exhibitions...the other 10% is filled with hugging his pug dogs and watching re-runs of Curb Your Enthusiasm. |

 The Pinkghost Fun Fair was created in an effort to raise South Florida's awareness and support of local businesses and artists. On November 8, 2008 the Pinkghost Fun Fair will showcase the coolest independent South Florida stores & artists. The Pinkghost Fun Fair will have a hand picked selection of the independent shops just in time for holiday shopping. Vendors include designer toy store Pinkghost, delicious pie provider Purple Pie Company, hand made plushies Pinky Punk and so many more. There will be art all over too! We have recruited over 20 artists for a giant collaboration mural. The mural covers the entire walls and columns of the location. Each artist was given a space to work with and once their work started to meet another artist's the collaborated on the edges to make it one giant fluid mural. Participating artists include South Florida rising stars Terribly Odd, Helena Garcia and Nathan Lumm. Art show with art on the go - The PinkGhost Fun Fair Art Show. An art show will be held at the convention with pieces avaialble for purchase and to take with you immediately. There will be national and international artists participating. More details to come. In case you needed any more reasons to go. There will be goodie bags for the first 25 people, live bands, dj set by Adam Foster (twilight notes.com) and nice people all over. Currently based in Pompano Beach, Nathan Lumm keeps busy with commercial assignments during the day and his own personal paintings at night. Mainly through networking over the internet, Nathan has kept quite a busy schedule this year with group shows across the country and various commissions. Once known for his work in the comic book industry, Nathan is having a blast reinventing himself. For his first solo show, From the Depths, Nathan presents 19 original new and old paintings of various sea life in vibrant colors. |
