Ravens 2 by Matylda McIlvenny
Acrylics and graphite on wood. 8”x10″

About the piece: A bit of Poe, a bit of Kill Bill, the Ravens series depicts the idea of revenge as having your eyes masterfully plucked out by birds.

Mini Bio: (www.matylda.com) I’m 32, and was born in Czestochowa, Poland. I feel like the cold gray winters of my childhood helped plant the seeds for the themes of solitude and introspection found in my work; I’m naturally drawn to muted tones and weathered-looking canvases.

I hold degrees in Visual Communication and Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and FAU. In addition, I’ve spent the last 10 years working as a graphic designer/web developer. My background in design influences the relative simplicity of my compositions, while straying away from a singular message.

I’m a newcomer to the fine art scene, showing my work in group shows at local venues in Fort Lauderdale. I’m beginning to develop a distinctive style, working in mixed media on a larger scale than
when I first began painting. In 2008, I started a company called Relic Dwellers through which I sell my paintings and limited edition prints.

Artist Served Cold Statement: My work is contemplative and enigmatic. Each piece is equivocal and meant to foster introspection – I provide the ingredients and let the viewer define the meaning.

I use a muted palette of browns occasionally punctuated by touches of bold color. My graphic design background heavily influences the simplicity of each painting’s composition. However, unlike most commercial design work, my paintings are ambiguous and don’t have a singular message.

My current work focuses on motorcycles and birds. Both subjects imply concepts of freedom, solitude, and pensiveness. To me, birds seem introspective and self-aware; I feel they add a sense of ambiguity to the meaning of my paintings. In my future work I plan on delving deeper into ideas of solitude and self-examination.

Admire her vengeful birds in person and have some delicious free cupcakes at the Served Cold Opening. If you are interested in receiving the Preview email, to have the opportunity to purchase the pieces before anyone else, please email us at info@pinkghost.net with PREVIEW as the subject.

Strange Love by Kat Reeder
Mixed media digital. Giclee on gallery wrapped canvas 14”x14″

Mini Bio: (www.katreeder.com) Kat Reeder is an artist and designer living on Oahu’s western shore. She was born in Lima, Peru and grew up in Miami, Florida. Her artistic sensibilities are deeply rooted in her Latin-American heritage. Her use of color and texture are directly influenced by her love of the Hawaiian Islands.

Kat Reeder’s work is characterized by striking retro-inspired visuals that combine conventional drawing, photography and digital media. Her style is a unique fusion of 60’s Tropicalia, Japanime, and Art Nouveau. Her art aims to capture the radiance, beauty, and sensuality of all women.

At the forefront of the digital fine art movement in Hawaii, Kat brings a fresh voice to this genre.

Although a largely self-taught illustrator and painter, Kat holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida and attended the Graphic Design Program at Miami Ad School in Miami Beach, Florida.

Artist Served Cold Statement: A lover scorned seeks her revenge in a tangled web of seduction. She does not retreat into the shadows of despair. She seeks the thirst of her lover’s lust in a delicate dance. To surrender to that vengeful chaos that turns captor into prey is the nature of this strange, strange love

Check out her take on Revenge and have some delicious free cupcakes at the Served Cold Opening. If you are interested in receiving the Preview email, to have the opportunity to purchase the pieces before anyone else, please email us at info@pinkghost.net with PREVIEW as the subject.

Her Offensive Slashes Were Flesh Wound Splashes And It Was Simpler Than She Wanted by Patrick Fatica
Oil on Panel 16”x21″

Mini Bio: (www.patrickfatica.com) His paintings have been called, “a sublime blend of Tim Burton and Botticelli” by the Baltimore Examiner. Patrick Fatica attended Ringling School of Art and Design from 1990 to 1994. He moved to Orlando, Florida in 1995. He spent the first few years developing a production company with a few friends called Eat Cake Productions. He directed several original plays and the 16mm film “Five Miles from Heaven,” which appeared in festivals around the country. After completing the film, he and his two business partners created 2 music venues on the east side of Orlando and downtown Orlando called Back Booth. After almost a decade of traveling down different artistic paths, he picked up the paintbrush again and dedicated himself to his painting. With over 50 shows between 2007 and 2010 Patrick’s Pop-Surreal portraits have spanned from Los Angeles, CA to Madison, WI. Recently the Orlando Weekly said about his solo exhibition, “Operating on the edge between street and highbrow art, Fatica’s world is dark and devoid of highbrow puffery, instead depicting a surreal, nihilistic future inspired more by David Lynch’s Eraserhead than the bright futurism explored at the 1939 World’s Fair.”

Check out his take on Revenge and have some delicious free cupcakes at the Served Cold Opening. If you are interested in receiving the Preview email, to have the opportunity to purchase the pieces before anyone else, please email us at info@pinkghost.net with PREVIEW as the subject.
